Abstract
This article explores the ways of inhabiting Aysén Patagonia, based on the narratives of former settlers of the southernmost zone of Chile’s XI Region. The first phase aims to advance over a narrated territory, scrutinizing the construction of places and landscapes emerging from the appropriation and symbolization that the subject of the territory that inhabits. In a second moment, the article explores how that subject is enunciated, from an interdiscursive production, that appeals to collective memory. In this sense, a dialectical relationship is proposed, in which objects and landscapes are constructed and reconstructed, co-emerging in a narration of moving spaces. For this, we will analyze the symbolic structure contained in the narratives, produced in the form of life stories of the former residents of Baker, as the southern edge of Aysén Patagonia is called. These are life stories of settlers who lived in these territories in the first decades of 1900
