Abstract
This work aims to analyze the feminization of the political public sphere with the participation of women in actions and in the expression of opinions, ideas and speeches, of the political projects to which they adhered or rejected during the process of independence of Chile, being participants in the culture, concepts and practical and symbolic languages of the period. Also, make visible the consequences experienced by the women who were involved in the development of the independence conflict. This work invites us to reflect on the roles that women played in everyday contexts, showing that they were not oblivious to the revolutionary events, but rather, demonstrates a very early political activity. This work invites us to reflect on cultural and gender history, supported by the analysis of a variety of documentation, such as the ministerial sources of the Interior, Treasury and War, as well as the Municipality of Santiago, the documents of the Miscellaneous Fund Archive, Bernardo OâHiggins, In addition, the General and Judicial Captaincy Fund of Melipilla is kept in the National Historical Archive of Chile. The documentation analyzed are petitions, requests, reports from authorities and letters, which invite us to rethink, reread and reinterpret the sources, influencing the visibility of female actions.
