Abstract

To obtain an academic degree in most of the universities, it is required to carry out a research project; in the Design career this is opted for the elaboration of a product typical of the discipline. The purpose of the article is to analyze the application of the user experience model proposed by Ferrer- Mavárez et al. (2020; 2021) in degree projects in the Visual Communication Design career at the University Technological Metropolitan de Chile. This study is of a qualitative type from the Grounded Theory, with a design of systematic and emergent data analysis; a sample of 18 students who prepared 11 investigations during the period 2019-2022. The results demonstrated the consonance of the user experience model with the requirements regulated by the University for the preparation of title works. It was concluded that the model confers methodological rigor in the Design career, through the techniques applied in the process. The evaluation of the projects by peer reviewers demonstrates the feasibility of the work structure, as well as the coherence in both methodology and design standards, the added value being the creation of efficient products for people.
