Abstract

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) is a model for multidisciplinary, team-based, project-based undergraduate research, and it has been implemented at 42 colleges and universities around the world. This paper describes VIP programs at four South American institutions, profiles one team from each, and identifies themes across the programs. The paper will be of interest to faculty and administrators interested in incorporating and scaling multidisciplinary projects in their curricula.
