Management Instruments in the New Climate Change Framework Law
Abstract
The recently published Framework Law on Climate Change in Chile requires an analysis of its different contents. This paper focuses on addressing climate change from a legal point of view and after the publication of the law in Chile and on the climate management instruments contained in this law, as well as how they can be linked to the Paris Agreement instruments and to the public policies already existing on the matter in Chile. The reasons why the adoption of this law was necessary are also analysed, given the limited binding character of the international instruments and the continuity that the implementation of climate change policies requires, to comply with the commitments adopted internationally.
