Abstract

Our study sets out to explore the Theme selection and sentence structure (Van Dijk, 1988, Bell, 1991; Fairclough, 1995, White, 1998, Lavid et al., 2009). We have focused on a complete linguistic analysis of original texts from two journalist genres (news reports and editorials), particularly within the use of English and Spanish languages in order to elaborate, in the future, ESP teaching materials for venezuelan journalist students.
