Abstract

Debates about the ability of Marxist theories to seriously consider genealogies of capital-ism other than Eurocentric ones are today in order.1 If it is still possible to think with Marxand at the same time be attentive to multiple forms of exploitation and oppression, suchdebates are necessary not only to attain a better understanding of the differential inte-gration of the global South into Western-centred capitalist global structures but, just asimportantly, they might be instrumental in elaborating a more accurate picture of thehistory and genealogy of ‘the West’ itself.
