PERCEPCIÓN DEL LOGRO DE COMPETENCIAS GENÉRICAS Y EMPLEABILIDAD ENTRE UN MODELO DE APRENDIZAJE BASADO EN PROBLEMAS Y UN MODELO TRADICIONAL EN LA FORMACIÓN DE KINESIÓLOGOS

Abstract

Introduction. Professionals with a good command of generic instrumental, interpersonal, and systemic competences successfully insert them- selves into work. Objective. To compare the perception of the achievement of generic competences and employability data between a prob- lem-based learning model and a traditional model in the training of Physiotherapists. Material and methods. Between 2019 and 2020, Kine- siology students were followed until their job placement, after 16 months of graduation, a second competency measurement was carried out, incorporating aspects of employability. Results. Students and graduates recognize the importance of generic skills for work and highlight a good level of educational achievement. There is a more significant achievement in instrumentals as a result of a PBL curriculum. Employers identify com- petencies with lower achievements and some with low employment impact. Conclusion. There is recognition of generic competencies among students, graduates, and employers, in some the PBL reaches higher levels of achievement. It is suggested to continue strengthening this type of training, emphasizing those skills that allow a satisfactory job placement.
