Abstract

A bioclimatical house located in water, is proposed incorporating design principles present i'l a previous house of the Maracaibo Lake basin: the palafitic paraujano building. The proposal is intended for low income users, including native Goajiros, with reduced areas. The review of the previous bioclimatical model existing in the región has allowed the development of a new model. This new model incorporates the experiences of the previous model, integrating contemporary low technology with tradition. The palafitic notion of filtering envelope and a window in a roof; has been considered and restructured in the Palaminium. This is how the venetian blind wall, the protected translucent roof and free spaces in the dwelling were born. It is posible to develop a passive intelligent building based onthe understanding of historical precedents concerning climate and site conditions.
