Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the types of citizenship that emerge in pre-constituent Chile (prior to the social outbreak and constituent convention) according to the types of rights that people define as a priority and that, as such, reflect the bases on which the constituent process currently underway will be defined. To achieve this, the rights mentioned by nearly 90 thousand people who participated in the citizen town meetings held in 2016 were studied. The analysis was carried out through two complementary techniques, the first was the application of artificial neural networks, in order to identify the relational basis of the rights. Then, and through some ARS techniques, the citizenship bases that were present in these popular deliberations were specified. The results indicate that, through the different relational configurations of the rights mentioned by the participants, there is evidence of the emergence of more traditional citizenships (liberal and republican) and others, with greater strength, aligned with current political processes and social mobilizations: modern, multicultural and differentiated citizenship.
