Zúñiga, Fernanda Osorio

Abstract

The investigation aims to analyze Facebook comments on publications regarding the subject of equal marriage in Chile. This study follows the theories of digital discourse analysis and Queer Linguistics, with a qualitative methodology. An open codification method was used every single step of the procedure. The investigation corpus considers a total of 2391 Facebook comments from five different Chilean social media pages. Through the analysis two macro-categories (in favor and against) and nine categories were created, this help understand how insults work, to what subjects they aim and their common places. These results prove that the insult is a form of discursive discrimination in the discourse genre of Facebook comments.
