Abstract
The article examines the graphic work of Luis Fernando Rojas referring to the War of the Pacific and his contribution to the formation of the visual culture of the conflict. Through an analysis of the visual and aesthetic resources deployed in his works, the paper analyzes the creation of a heroic imaginary around the war and its ideological relation with Chilean nationalism. The visual narrative of the war provided by the artist's illustrations was systematically propagated in the public opinion of the time, reaching a great social diffusion and popularity.
