La prensa en México durante el neoliberalismo (1994-2018). El caso La Jornada y Reforma

Abstract

This text deals with the development that the newspapers La Jornada and Reforma have taken into account in the latest trends within the Mexican Political System. For its analysis, four variables were used (economic development, professional ethics, legal structure and political parallelism), which allow to make a general description of the evolution of both daily media from depth interviews, bases in the thematic areas and It was applied to journalists, editors and managers of said newspapers. The center of the research is based on the theoretical observations in the Political Economy of Communication and the methodology of analysis of the proposed models for Hallin and Mancini. The research presents the repercussions that neoliberalism has had in the Mexican press system since the 1990s, through the study of these two newspapers.
