Artificial intelligence at the service of the health of the future

Abstract

Since its origins, medicine has been linked more to the cure of diseases than to its prevention. With the latest advances in science, technology and massive data processing, this paradigm is changing, focusing on maintaining the health of individuals, preventing them from suffering from any disease. This new approach is called "4P Medicine", which proposes that medicine must be Preventive, Participative, Predictive and Personalized. In this article we will analyze how Artificial Intelligence (AI), through the processing of data such as DNA, electronic medical records and the environmental variables to which people have been exposed, can contribute decisively to the development of a new proposal in health care.In recent years, the amount of data related to people's health has grown exponentially, and the efforts that have been made to improve its quality are already bearing fruit. However, every day it is more difficult for health personnel to extract relevant information, using traditional methods of data processing. In this sense, AI together with the computational resources to process massive data will be a key element in improving the health of the population.
