Simple Bone Cyst, Treatment And Imaging Follow Up, A Case Report
Abstract
A 15 year old female patient, with no medical history was derived to the maxilofacial surgery service of the El Carmen Clinical-Metropolitan Hospital for a radiographic detection of a great radiolucent lesion in the left mandibular body. Clinically with no oral alterations. Tentative Diagnosis: Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor (KOT) / Simple Bone Cyst A CBCT scan is requested. The extensive radiolucent area goes through the lingual aspect of tooth #3.2 till #3.6 and spreads to the inferior border of the mandible, with 36x20x11mm size. Unilocular, well defined outline, slightly thinning the cortical bone without perforating or expanding it. No teeth displacement or resorption is found. The inferior alveolar nerve canal is bucally displaced. The image is compatible with KOT, so a differencial diagnosis with simple bone cyst is suggested.
