Abstract

The anthropology of the state is an important field to generate knowledge regarding the state's work. In Latin America, it has had an interesting development, with shared theoretical bases. In this article we present diverse methodological applications related to this field of study in the region and explore conceptually the relationship between the state and communities. We also propose adding anthropology of public policies as part of this approach. © 2023 by the American Anthropological Association.
