AUTOLOGOUS GRAFTS FOR THE PREVENTION OF MUCOSAL DEFECTS IN MAXILLARY UNITARY IMPLANTS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW INJERTO AUTÓLOGO PARA LA PREVENCIÓN DE DEFECTOS MUCOSOS EN IMPLANTE UNITARIO MAXILAR. REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA
Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Autologous soft tissue grafts are fundamental as an aid to the stability of the buccal implant, as well as being appreciated for their aesthetic appearance. OBJECTIVE: To update the information on the application of autologous tissue grafts for the prevention of peri-implant mucosal defects. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An electronic search was carried out between the years 2018 and 2022 using the search strategy "Soft fabrics AND Grafting AND Dental implants" in the Epistemonikos metasearch engine and the Scopus and Medline/ Pubmed databases. RESULTS: The search yielded 279 records of which 3 met the eligibility criteria. The results indicate that the grafts have the capacity to generate volumetric gain and maintain the level of soft tissue, with autologous grafts being the most effective. CONCLUSIONS: The use of autologous grafts increases the amount of peri-implant soft tissue in the short term, preventing the appearance of mucosal defects.
