"The Psychologist's Activity" (1806) by Christoph G. Weidenbach: Translation, contextualization and importance
Abstract
A complete translation into Spanish of the German text Das Geschaft des Psychologen (" The psychologist's activity") published in 1806 in Heidelberg by the philosopher/psychologist Christoph G. Weidenbach is offered. The translation is preceded by a contextualization including Weidenbach's biographical aspects and teaching activities. Some relevant analytical categories from early 19th century philosophical landscape are introduced for a better understanding of the text. This contextualization underlines the relevance of Weidenbach's essay as it predefines the profession of the psychologists and the need to focus on the experience as the discipline's object of study.
