Abstract

This article explores the ways in which China is perceived in Chile through an analysis of representa-tions about that country in a case study: 71 graduate business students, between 2018 and 2022. Based on an adaptation of the DAST methodology, participants were asked to draw China, with-out further instructions, which allowed identifying the main representations of China of the top -ranked business graduate students. The results show that China is represented in ways that re-main anchored in traditional historical representations. Despite the growing and broader economic exchange between the two countries, essentialist ideas of China as another and as a market prevail.
