Assessment in Physical Education: perception of teachers from the school territory Evaluación en Educación Física: percepción del profesorado desde el territorio escolar
Abstract
This article aims to analyse the perception of teachers about the use of evaluation in the teaching and learning process within the school system. The methodology of this study is qualitative; Seven interviews were conducted with physical education teachers who had been in the educational system for at least one to 15 years, within the south-central city of Chile. The results showed that teachers approach evaluation to check the students' learning level. When applying the instruments, we seek to diversify them according to the characteristics of the students, significantly highlighting the rubric. Regarding initial teacher training the lack of experience and methodologies to address the evaluation process was highlighted. Depending on the context of the school, this can be a factor that influences the evaluation, where the environment and conditions of the establishment can favour or harm the evaluation process. It was also concluded that evaluation is established as a process of measuring the progress and achievements of students. However, it is possible to indicate that teachers show certain difficulties from the initial teacher training from the point of view of its implementation within the school territory.
