Chapter 11 - The diabatic model of intermediate stabilization for reaction mechanism analysis: a link to valence bond and Marcus theories
Abstract
In this chapter, the diabatic model for intermediate stabilization (DMIS) is introduced as a framework to rationalize the appearance or disappearance of reaction intermediates in chemical reactions. Several reactions are studied under the DMIS model, which gives the reader a broader understanding of this framework. The connection of the DMIS with several theories, such as Marcus' Theory and Valence Bond Theory, are introduced and discussed. © 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
