PLECS Implementation of a Predictive Control Strategy for a Multi- Drive System based on an Indirect Matrix Converter
Abstract
This paper proposes a PLECS implementation of a predictive torque and flux control strategy for a multi-drive system composed of two induction machines and a six-leg indirect matrix converter. Simultaneously, the instantaneous power factor of the grid is controlled to be minimized. The proposed control scheme uses mathematical models of machines, the input filter, and the converter to select the optimal switching state that minimizes the error between predictions and reference values of torque, stator flux, and reactive power. The results demonstrate a fast dynamic response for both machines and effective minimization of the grid reactive power.
