Abstract

The development of social media has impacted several aspects of people’s lives, including health. Day after day, new social media emerge with which millions of people around the world interact, including physicians and other health professionals. However, little is known about the difficulties and challenges involved in its use in the health field and the bioethical implications of its use in the professional practice of medicine. For this reason, a narrative review of this topic is presented, to elucidate the bioethical considerations inherent to the interaction of physicians in the different social media currently available.
