Abstract

Under the glottopolitics approach, this study presents the results of 11 focus groups carried out around non-sexist language, of which the ideologemes that participate in the perpetuation of the effects of patriarchy in language were analyzed. Eight ideologemes based on argumentative topoi were identified, and it was concluded that these are linked to two main linguistic ideologies: firstly, a lack of recognition of their demands in the linguistic sphere as relevant, resulting in the perception of feminist and dissident movements as aggressive and exaggerated. On the other hand, the circulation of a structuralist-functional vision of language was identified, in which non-sexist language would be relegated to formality and political correctness.
