Abstract
This work aims to analyze the influence of pulsed direct current variables in the FCAW-P welding process. The results show that, independent of the produced metal drop diameter, it can be stated qualitatively that all tests have some degree os splashing when pulsed direct current is used. In addition, the cross sections of the weld seams revealed that they are free from undercuts, porosities and lack of fusion. According to the data obtained from the geometric parameters of the weld beam, it can be concluded that the width of the cord (L) and the penetration (P) do not show a significant influence for variations of major and minor drop diameter in relation to the diameter of the tubular wire. However, for a diameter of major and minor drop in relation to the diameter of tubular wire, a significant effect on the reinforcement (R) of the weld bead is observed.
