Subjectivation, Perception and Simulacrum in Laguna by alvaro Bisama
Abstract
This article analyzes the gothic character of the novel Laguna (2018) by Ãlvaro Bisama. From the narratological analysis of the style and the literary images that make up this novel, I focus on three problems that its narrative plot develops: the confusion of the limits between the organic and inorganic, resulting from the subjection of the biolo-gical matter of living beings to economic flows; the problematization of visual reality and the hierarchical relationship between mind and body, caused by the collapse of the perception structure; and the rise of the simulacrum, capable of overthrowing the episte-mological and subjective foundations.
