Abstract

In a globalized world, valuing diversity cultural and linguis-tic is fundamental for the construction of societies respectful of said diversity. Likewise, the acquisition of the languages that coexist in each territory requires revitalization policies and programs. In this context, The objective is to design, implement and evaluate a program educational for teaching mapuzugun creating an exclusive linguistic and cultural environment in the ex-ancestral language Mapuche for learning a second language by young people who self-identify as Mapuche. We use interviews, observations and audiovisual records to evaluate its effectiveness. Program evaluation reveals a recovery of the "dormant" identity, the need to constitute community, the increase of the linguistic repertoire, the political leadership of young people and the valorization of mapuche culture. © 2024 Interciencia Association.
