Abstract

The social movements around feminism and sexual diversity have positioned the gender approach worldwide as one of the great challenges facing education in the 21st century. This has also been reflected in the field of Physical Education, which is why this essay critically analyzes teacher and school training in Physical Education in Chile from a gender perspective. The scientific studies of the last year's show that the Chilean initial teacher training in Physical Education is strongly masculinized and that gender issues are made invisible in the official curricular documents of Physical Education, which regulate teacher and school training. It is considered necessary to undertake deep, reflexive, and critical dialogues on the subject in the context studied.
