Abstract

Objective . The aim was to obtain the current state of publications on the analysis of textbooks in statistics and probability in the Scopus database. Design/Methodology/Approach. A systematic literature review was conducted following the guidelines provided by the PRISMA Statement, using keywords extracted from the literature and the UNESCO thesaurus. The initial search yielded a total of 278 documents, of which 13 were analyzed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results/Discussion . A predominance was observed in: statistics content as the object of study; articles highlight the need for statistically literate citizens; qualitative research, content analysis method, and focus on the primary education level stand out as relevant methodological aspects; and the Onto-semiotic Approach as a utilized theoretical element. Conclusions . It is concluded that the analysis of textbooks on topics related to statistics and probability is a developing line of research, given the low number of articles identified in the Scopus database. Originality/Value . Provides relevant information on underexplored areas of knowledge through a comprehensive review, guiding future research to contribute to their development.
