Abstract
In the current context of global change, and particularly climate, one of the most predominant issues is the mitigation of climate change and its effects, to achieve the sustainable development goals at the global level, it is necessary to explore new fields for the implementation of interventions. There is immense potential for the reduction of CO2 emissions and energy consumption in the implementation of energy efficiency improvements in historic buildings, it is urgent to think about the adaptation and recovery of the built environment with criteria that respond to environmental requirements, in addition to the traditional links of historical and heritage conservation. This research studies a sector of the neighborhood el Almendral of Valparaiso, part of the historical conservation areas, considering the historic buildings and public space in this area. The intervention proposals consider the regulations and standards for the conservation of buildings and historic areas, proposing the integration of nature-based solutions for urban climate control and the recovery and enhancement of historic buildings. The proposals are analyzed using the ENVI-met software, subsequently the results are compared to identify the feasibility and benefits of each one, on the other hand, temperature changes at the urban level will be quantified and compared to identify the best proposal.
