Abstract

This article will review some categories developed by the researcher Adolfo de Nordenflycht Bresky to understand the local literary texts produced in Valparaíso as an expression of a differential urban imaginary that supports the configuration of an urban-coastal chronotope in the national literary canon. To do so, firstly, a systematization and delimitation of the categories of imagination and imaginary will be made, based on the ways in which they have been thematized in the Chilean intellectual field. Secondly, the analytical operation that De Nordenflycht develops to interpret the literature of Valparaíso as a local literature supported by a differential urban imaginary will be presented. Finally, some of the authors worked on by De Nordenflycht will be placed as a documentary constellation that allows to support the existence of an urban-port chronotope in the literature of Valparaíso.
