Nonfiction Texts as a Biocultural Conservation Trigger
Abstract
This study analyzes the pedagogical potential of two Chilean nonfiction picturebooks centered on biocultural diversity conservation, exploring traditional Mapuche farming practices and connections with their language, Mapuzugun. We examine the strategies used to convey meaning (narrative, visual, design, and so on) and we assess the books from a disciplinary perspective in terms of the agricultural information being conveyed. © 2025 BY BOOKBIRD, INC.
