Keywords: Human behaviors, serious videogames, Fogg's model, learning experience, academic performance, STEM.
Abstract
This article examines the negative emotions of students in the context of mathematics and their impact on academic performance. The Fogg Behavioral Model, the Optimal Experience Model, and an emotional behavioral model based on the theories of Ekman, Plutchik, and Willcox have been utilized. The ultimate goal is to establish foundational guidelines for the development of an educational video game for the mathematics curriculum, with an emphasis on sportive aspects. This video game, aligned with the curricular content, aims to capitalize on the benefits of serious games and mental sports to generate positive emotions and encourage mathematical practice. The proposed solution seeks to enhance the educational experience and improve academic performance in mathematics.
