Abstract
The need to incorporate Augmented Reality (AR) as an elective subject in Initial Teacher Training (FID) has arisen due to its limited presence in the curriculum of the careers and pedagogy programs of the Faculty of Education from the ESPE University. This results in an uncertain possibility of incorporating this tool into the educational practices of future teachers. Various emerging applications have appeared in education, posing challenges for future teachers when designing and implementing the teaching-learning process. However, the integration of technology tools such as AR has not been as swift as expected, probably due to factors such as teacher training or the complexity of its use. These aspects can now be addressed by initiatives arising from the FID, for instance, enabling future teachers to acquire the necessary skills to integrate AR into their professional practices.
