Abstract
The aim of this work is to discuss electricity generation from low-enthalpy geothermal resources in Palena electric system, with a binary plant (Regenerative Organic Rankine Cycle, RORC). Chemical composition of thermal springs, indicates a most likely temperature of 150°C for a hypothetical reservoir. We assessed the RORC for 3 mass flow (100, 200, and 300 kg/s), with 3 working fluids. The power output increases with mass flow, being 3380, 6760, and 10141 kWe. Economical evaluation indicates an Internal Recovery Rate of 12% in the best case.
