Design of a Generic Simulation Model of Direct and Reverse Logistics of PET Plastic Focused to Mitigation of Negative Impacts on Retailers
Abstract
This article proposes a generic forward and reverse logistics simulation model that evaluates the performance of a post-consumer PET container collection strategy that consists of implementing a refundable deposit system, using simulation and different measurement indicators, to analyze the performance of the supply chain to define what would be the most favorable conditions for retailers in terms of profits. The study establishes control mechanisms and definition of public policies in the collection of PET containers, under simulated data in an exhaustive process of data collection in the municipality of Barranquilla in the department of Atlántico.
