Abstract

The paper gathers information from different sources regarding hydraulics and related topics in Ancient Mesopotamia, including political use of water supply, canals and associate structures, environmental effects, etc. Two cylinder seals from private collections are presented in the paper. One of them shows Enki -the water god- and the second a boat scene, reflecting the dual use of water canals: irrigation and navigation.
