Abstract

The article analyzes Josefina Hepp’s science fiction works, La época de la neblina (2015) and La época de las semillas (2018), as narrative proposals that represent the climatic novum from a prospective view, within the framework of utopian studies and cli-fi from the Global South perspective, in Chilean science fiction. These works explore a post-anthropocentric space where seed preservation becomes a key reading to confront the environmental crisis in the Anthropocene. This is configured as an essential element for planetary survival and ecological regeneration. Through sustainable technologies, ecological resistance, and cultural memory, the corpus proposes an organic transformation of subjects and communities in the face of biopower exercised by megacorporations. In this context, Blanca, the protagonist, represents resistance and regeneration between the natural and the human, symbolizing the fight against the Capitalocene and the defense of life in a future marked by environmental collapse.
