Abstract

In this study, 19 cases of beetles (Insecta: Coleoptera) with morphological malformations were examined, belonging to the Ernesto Krahmer Entomological Collection (Valdivia, Chile). The reported anomalies include brachyelytria, cistelytria, dystrophy, ectromelia, hemibrachyelytria, schistomely, synphysocery, trematoelytria, and elytral aberrations, affecting multiple species and families of Coleoptera. A detailed analysis of each case was conducted, accompanied by photographs and illustrations, allowing the characterization of deformation patterns in antennae, elytra, and body symmetry. These findings represent a significant contribution to the knowledge of teratology in Coleoptera.
