Abstract

Research on teacher educators represents a significant advance in international scientific literature. However, in Latin America, and in Chile in particular, its study still constitutes a pending research agenda. The objective of this scoping review is to examine the current state of scientific literature on teacher educators in Chile between 2008 and 2022. The methodological recommendations of the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for Scoping Reviews) statement were used. The research revealed that there is growing interest in the study of this group of professionals in three thematic areas: (a) pedagogical strategies, (b) thinking, and (c) professional development. It is hoped that this work will highlight the role of these academics, promote the development of new research, and encourage the creation and implementation of institutional strategies and public policies that strengthen their work. © 2025, AUFOP.
