Leadership skills in times of change: A look at universities at Zulia-Venezuela Habilidades de liderazgo en tiempos de cambio: Una mirada en las universidades del Zulia-Venezuela

Abstract

Currently, many situations have changed, making it imperative to analyze why and how to ensure that leadership in universities is aimed at training and preparing their staff, considering it an important human talent to promote processes and obtain the expected results, for Therefore, the purpose of this research was to describe the skills of the leader in times of change in universities, with the postulates of Gavilán (2018). A descriptive study was developed, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, assuming as a population the Directors and professors of Law Schools, in this case, from the three most important universities in Zulia-Venezuela, with an intentional non-probabilistic sampling., of 80 participants. A valid and reliable questionnaire was developed. The analysis was carried out with measures of central tendency, observing as a result adequate skills with greater relevance in communication and weaknesses in the application of empathy. In conclusion, in these universities there are managers whose leadership is capable of emphasizing the new training requirements of professionals, to lead to managerial, operational, technical, administrative functioning, programming economic, social, cultural, scientific and technological projects required by the nation.
