Objetivos: This grant creates a research group on microbial ecosystem services in Chilean salares. It maps microbial diversity and roles in biogeochemical cycles. It studies biomineralization, biomining, and plastic pollutant bioremediation strategies. It also explores the production of bioactive compounds.
