Abstract

The first record of the assassin bug Zelus renardii in Bolivia is provided based on specimens from Cochabamba and its first occurrence in the Argentinean province of Chubut, with specimens collected in Puerto Madryn. Additionally, a specimen found in Argentina presents a unilateral atrophy in the right mesothoracic leg, which corresponds to the first known teratology in this species.. It is concluded that the malformation may be due a femoral injury during a nymphal stage. Importance of the new record and teratism are commented and discussed. © 2025 Fundacion Miguel Lillo.
