Abstract
This paper is based on the logic of finding a clear and adequate definition for the development of social research with and for indigenous peoples. The objective is to be able to define from the indigenous visions, considering them as protagonists of the process, how the indigenous family is conceptualized, specifically of the Andean peoples who possess social influences of incanate. For the development of the process, an analysis of the silvery discourse in the legal body that regulates indigenous inclusion and participation in Chile was considered, from which are extracted the categories of analysis with which methods of information collection were applied to the participants who are part of the Aymara, Quechua and Lickanantay peoples. Methodologically, a three-step model oriented to methodological decolonization was used, using techniques of content analysis and discourse analysis. The results of the analysis steps in relation to the political proposal and the ethnic knowledge, gave way to two definitions of family. The results obtained were compared giving shape to the conceptualization from the Andean peoples, which was subjected to review and validation by an ancestral authority, in order to be able to comply with the requirement of the methodological model to present what the participants really want to express. © 2025, Universidad Cientifica del Sur.
