Abstract

In this work, we study a mesoscopic superconducting sample in 3+1 dimensions (space and time), with symmetry breaking along the y-axis (the reflection axis sigma(y)), in the presence of a lateral applied external current. We obtained the first critical currents (J(1)((+,-))), which are non-symmetrical with respect to the polarity of the applied current, indicating the possibility of the superconducting diode effect in this meso- and superconducting sample. Additionally, we study the efficiency of this possible diode as a function of the applied external magnetic field, Ginzburg-Landau parameter and the temperature variation in the same system and the effect that the vortex state would have on these efficiencies and the projection of the supercurrent (Meissner current J(sy)), along a section of it. Additionally, we studied the effect of temperature on these same variables. Finally, this diode proposal was established in Moll and Geshkenbein (2023), without an in-depth study, but allows for the micro-fabrication of superconducting diodes more simply, without the need for Josephson junctions, which are more complex to manufacture and generate higher production costs, which can help establish the main elements of traditional circuits, but in their superconducting version.
