Sagredo P.M.; Araya A.D.; Sandoval F.H.

Abstract

This paper presents and analyzes the representational prac-tices of singing and dancing in the Andean parties between 16th and 17th centuries. We analyze in depth the Quechua and Aymara indigenous voice 'taqui', as a term that incorporates in itself the singing and dancing. Also, through linguistic and ethno-historical perspectives we try to understand the traditions, representations and re-semantizations of the taqui in the Andean world until today.
