Abstract

Objective: Describe the experience of the Caritas Coach Educational Program® (CCEP), first version in Spanish. Methods: A variety of teaching strategies were used, focusing on reflective, aesthetic and experiential methods. The program was divided into 13 modules that allowed students to learn and experience Watson's theory of Human Caring. Zoom sessions were held once a month with the aim of connecting participants with the theory of human care, promoting study, supporting a deeper understanding of Caring Science, and generating a sense of relational space for the construction of Comunitas. Results: Two aspects associated with the contributions of the CCEP were outlined. The first was the development of projects both in hospital contexts and in professional and continuing training. The second was about the participants stories about their perception of the program, which embody feelings of personal development and growth, and the acquisition of tools to effect transformations in the health system supported by Watson's theory. Conclusion: The teaching of the theory of Human Caring has been felt more necessary for humanization, the practice of self-care and the implementation of biogenic projects in health and vocational training institutions. It is hoped to encourage new reflections with the aim of contributing to the ongoing training of nurses, teaching the theory of human care in a critical, reflective, experiential, dynamic and emancipatory manner, reverberating in the consolidation and strengthening of the profession in society.
