Methodological proposal for the adaptation of the Leadership Self-Assessment Instrument by means of Delphi; Propuesta metodológica para la adaptación del Instrumento de Autoevaluación del Liderazgo mediante Delphi

Abstract
Aim: In the context of the study of leadership skills development in nursing students, there is the Es-SALI instrument, which is validated in Spanish from Spain. Owing to the lack of literature on a methodology to adapt instruments in Spanish-speaking contexts, we aimed to posit a methodological frame for the linguistic adaptation of this instru-ment. Methodology: Through a Delphi methodology, a panel of experts was constituted, conducting work rounds to evaluate the comprehension of the Es-SALI instrument adapted into Chilean Spanish, and to identify aspects thereof for improvement. Main results: Two work rounds were conducted. A step-by-step methodological proposal was elaborated that orientates the linguistic adaptation of instruments between two variants of a single language. In so doing, the adaptation of Es-SALI into Chilean Spanish was produced. Main conclusion: Based on a Delphi methodology, a methodological proposal that bridges the literature gap pointed out was developed.
