Abstract

The Inter-American Convention to protect the Human Rights of Older Persons regulates the obligation of the states parties to implement a process so that the elderly person can express their advanced directives regarding health care inter-ventions. Chile has ratified this instrument. This paper aims to analyze the state of the institution in Chile from a comparative perspective and the opportunity for its express regulation.
