Abstract

Oxygen Uptake (VO2), is considered the best aerobic power index. Objective. Determine the VO2peak and ventilatory thresholds in futsal players, according to their position on the playing field. Materials and methods. A quasi-experimental, cross-sectional design study type with a descriptive scope in 15 indoor soccer players (Futsal), using intentional non-probability sampling. The following variables were assessed: weight, height, body mass index (BMI), peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak), ventilatory thresholds (VT1, VT2), maximum heart rate (HRmax), minute volume (V'E), respiratory rate (RR) and maximum aerobic speed (MAS). Results. The main results show that the VO2peak obtained among the participants is different between the different game positions in futsal (p<0.05). Conclusions. The highest levels of VO2were found in the full-back and centre-forward position. For his part, the highest VT2are in the centre-forward position, however, data are lacking to establish more conclusive profile.
